The Barky Thing

Binky Binky Binky! That's exactly what I did when Mumma introduced me to the noisy creature she refers to as "Callie". Really REALLY long legs, she could binky around the world in a matter of seconds I bet! Mumma said Callie isn't like me and I tend to agree as I just cannot understand a single work she says - do you know what "bark" and "woof" mean?

At first I wasn't completely sure of her, she's quite big..

Is that not proof? Ohh but Mumma! She has teeth! Well.. I suppose with this barred thing in the way, a closer look would be nice.. Wouldn't it? Maybe a sniff?

A Table Toy

Some bunnies are chewers, some are diggers, some love to explore, to toss things or maybe they are one of those height loving buns - just like "Sir Cloud"!
The first 'toy' that I gave Cloud was a cardboard box, the most simplest of things but something he absolutely loved - from hiding in it, nibbling on it and even using it to survey his land!
With his weight increasing, it was time I got off my butt and made something more permanent before Clouds beloved box caved in on him.

I was trying to find a tutorial for a 'sofa bed' to make for my puppy and a smaller version for my guineas and come across this (picture). I thought about attaching a second level to the legs but my search for a small coffee/bedside table left me with very little gas in my car and still no table!
After some thought however, I realised that if Cloud peed on the mattress, the urine would just.. sit there, seeping through the mattress and onto the base - yuck!

Thankfully Cloud is not a chewer, he will chew on branches til there is very little left but when it comes to any other wooden item in his space, he won't touch them so once I had made the table, a quick spray of Plasti-Kote and it was complete! To Cloud, it is absolutely perfect!

Cage Expansion

It's been a rather exciting time here at home with the A&P Shows, my birthday coming up, and with Cloud consistently using his litter box I have finally gotten around to starting the cage expansion!
I've kept the newly expanded cage nice and simple : A hiding place, a branch, litter box, a few toys, water and food but once next week rolls around, I will be adding a bunch of new and hopefully more permanent toys/beds.

The trick will be for me to actually get around to making them - my weekends just keep escaping my grasp. 

A Day at the Show

Golly, it has been FIVE days since I last posted - yes, another forced hiatus. One of the new additions decided my laptop charger was just sooooo scrummy and munched on it in 4 places! *grumble grumble*

It never ceases to amaze me at how well Cloud behaves in public, mind you even at home he is just as well behaved. Of course at A&P shows, little kids just HAVE TO pet the bunnies - especially those younger buns who are still learning that people are ok. Thankfully Cloud was there to rescue those itty bitty buns and was loved on by everyone, passed around like a little ragdoll lapping up every bit of attention he could get!

Tomorrow, we will be back at the A&P Show for some more loving and I will also be popping over to the 'petting zoo' area to help the SPCA when they need me.
